On Thursday, November 2nd teaching artist, Michael, from the Joffrey Ballet visited Alexander School to lead a workshop with the 3rd grade students. Michael explained briefly what the Joffrey Ballet Company does, and also shared how he became a dancer and now a teacher. The students learned classic ballet and then hip hop. After students were taught individual steps they were able to put it all together in a dance sequence. At the end of the workshop Michael answered student’s questions. Both students and teachers agreed it was a great experience and a challenging workout! Michael commented that he noticed some very talented dancers, and he hopes they will continue to dance.
